Manager, European Affairs
Job responsibilities include:
- Writing responses (under supervision of the Head of CFA Institute Centre EMEA) to consultations originating from European Union (EU) organizations where the Centre has an interest and proposing policy positions and on related subjects
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments in the EU
- Performing in-depth reviews and analyses of issues involved and recommends major policy projects
- Working with CFA Centre staff, legislators, regulators and other agency officials to identify the financial and legal implications to ensure that policy positions developed by the CFA Centre are consistent with the Code and Standards and include practitioner expertise
- Communicate orally and in writing CFA Centre positions through articles, research papers, interviews and presentations
Position requires:
- University degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Critical reasoning skills
- Policy-making and recommended best practice skills
- Research skills
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-cultural constituents
- Superior communication skills – oral, written, and presentation
- Persuasive communication and negotiating skills
- Commitment to and understanding of CFA Institute values and to achieving its Mission and Vision, including ethical and professional standards
- CFA Charterholder or applicable professional credential relating to the regulation of capital markets or the preparation of financial reports preferred
- Familiarity and/or prior experience with the advocacy efforts of CFA Institute
- Fluency in two or more languages
