Periodic Review of Standards and Handbook

 

Updates to the Code and Standards and Standards of Practice Handbook

 

The CFA Institute Standards of Practice Council (SPC) is seeking public comment on proposed changes to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct (Code and Standards) and the associated guidance to the Code and Standards in the Standards of Practice Handbook (Handbook). The public comment period is open through 19 November 2009.

 

Proposed revisions include:

 

• Clarification change to Standard III (A) Duties to Clients — Loyalty, Prudence, and Care
• New examples and guidance that address recent market events and professional practice during a down market
• Improved readability of the Handbook
