Corporate Governance
Our work on corporate governance is built primarily on the research and principles contained in The Corporate Governance of Listed Companies: A Manual for Investors.
The difficulty for investors is in knowing what to look for and how and why to look for it, so we address three broad areas of governance: the board, management, and shareowner rights. Within each category, there are areas where we’ve done research and offered practical guidance, including discussions of the structure, independence, and responsibilities of boards and the disclosure of possible conflicts of interest that may impact investors' interests.

Our expanded research on corporate governance includes three supplements to the Corporate Governance Manual:
Shareowner Rights Across the Markets: A Manual for Investors provides details of the current state of shareowner rights in 22 markets, including the current practices, rights, and legal and regulatory frameworks affecting shareowners in each jurisdiction.
Environmental, Social, and Governance Factors at Listed Companies: A Manual for Investors addresses key, non-financial risks and opportunities that investors may confront, and suggests ways to evaluate these issues.
The Compensation of Senior Executives at Listed Companies: A Manual for Investors helps investors understand how boards develop and decide on compensation systems for the individuals hired to manage these companies.
