Disability Accommodations

 

We're committed to offering the CFA exam in a manner and location accessible to individuals with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA applies to candidates whose physical or mental impairment substantially limits their ability to sit for the exam as compared with the general population. We do not guarantee that your request for testing accommodations will be granted, regardless of whether you have previously received testing accommodations.

 

On 25 September 2008, President Bush signed into law the “ADA Amendments Act of 2008” (“ADAAA”), which will take effect on 1 January 2009. You may obtain a full copy of the new law here (PDF). Beginning 1 January 2009, all requests for testing accommodation will be reviewed in accordance with the ADAAA.

 

Deadlines for requesting accommodation: 

 

  • June 2010 exam: 23 March 2010
  • December 2010 exam: 21 September 2010

 

Your completed form and all supporting documentation must be received by CFA Institute at least 75 days before exam day.

  • Submit your request as soon as possible once you have registered for an exam
  • We will confirm your request via e-mail
  • We will notify you if any additional documentation is required
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing of your request
  • We will notify you in writing on the status of your request once it has been evaluated

Returning Candidates: You must submit a request each time you register for an exam. Your completed form must be received by CFA Institute at least 75 days before exam day.
