Study Tips

It's important to create a schedule. An orderly, systematic approach is essential to successful completion of the exam. You should:

  • Dedicate a consistent block of time every week to reading and studying
  • Complete all reading assignments and the associated problems and solutions in each study session
  • Review the learning outcome statements both before and after you study each reading to ensure that you have mastered the applicable content and can complete the action(s) specified
  • Review the session’s purpose statement after each study session and confirm that you thoroughly understand the subject matter
  • Review the topic level learning outcome after you complete a topic area and verify that you have mastered the objectives.

Candidates should be prepared to devote a minimum of 250 hours of study with substantially more depending on individual circumstances. You will probably spend more time on some study sessions than on others. You should allow ample time for both in-depth study of all topic areas and additional concentration on the topic areas where you feel least prepared.
