What You Should Expect
When You Take a CIPM Exam
Security
A digital fingerprint, photograph, and signature may be taken when you check in for the exam.
Identification Policy
When checking in at the Pearson VUE test center, you are required to provide a valid, unexpired primary identification (ID) and a valid, unexpired secondary ID.
The preprinted name on each ID must match exactly the name on file with CFA Institute and Pearson VUE. If your name does not match, you will not be allowed to take the exam. To update or correct your name, you must submit a name change form (PDF) and supporting documentation.
Exam Timing
The exam is 180 minutes, and the clock starts when you click the “Begin Exam” button.
There are no scheduled breaks during the exam. Candidates can take an unscheduled break, but the 180-minute clock will continue to run for the duration of the break.
We schedule 210 minutes for the exam to provide you with ample time to read and sign the candidate pledge.
CIPM Program and Exam Policies
Remember that you must comply with all exam rules and regulations, including: the CIPM program and exam policies, the candidate responsibility statement, and instructions at the exam site. Candidates who violate these conditions may have their exam results voided and may be suspended or expelled from the CIPM program.
