CIPM Curriculum

The CIPM curriculum emphasizes the application of investment principles and is based on a body of knowledge defined by global best practices in investment performance evaluation and presentation.

You should view the curriculum primarily as a means of enhancing your abilities as a performance professional and secondarily as a way of preparing for the exam.

Topic-level learning objectives: Provide an overview of the material and indicate the depth of knowledge expected. These objectives are intentionally broad and are not tested; they describe the learning expected in each major topic area at a particular level of the exam

Learning outcome statements (LOS): Study session- and/or reading-specific objectives that indicate the level of knowledge candidates are expected to gain from each lesson for the exam

Reading assignments: The readings include a combination of journal articles, textbook chapters, and specially designed content to help you master the topics in the CIPM body of knowledge. Carefully studying the readings after working through each online curriculum lesson will provide you with a firm foundation as you prepare for the exams.
