About the Program
Managing the risk of concentrated stock positions held by clients is a complex and constantly evolving challenge. Tailoring the optimal solution requires advisers to understand and navigate financial engineering, taxation of financial instruments, securities law, margin rules, contract law, derivatives risk modeling, and behavioral finance. This program develops a best practices protocol for efficiently and effectively managing single-stock risk and will show how fiduciaries and professional advisers can craft the most advantageous strategy for a particular client while satisfying the adviser's fiduciary duties. This workshop will place particular emphasis on generating tax alpha by choosing the most tax efficient and legally defensible tools (e.g., exchange traded and OTC options and collars, pre-paid variable forwards, non-recourse loans, exchange funds, completion portfolios) among otherwise financially equivalent options.
Space is limited to preserve the interactive nature of the workshop and ensure that participants' specific questions can be adequately addressed.
