There are no prerequisites to enroll in the CIPM program; however, participants must agree to abide by the CIPM Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.

For example: If you wish to sit for the Principles exam during the October exam window, you may register for that exam any time between 1 May and 31 July.
Exam Registration Steps
- If you are planning to apply for a CIPM scholarship, submit your CIPM scholarship application and wait for award notification before registering for a CIPM exam.
- Register for the exam.
- After you register for an exam, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from CFA Institute containing curriculum and exam appointment information.
- If you need to request disability testing accommodations, submit your request now.
- Wait 48 hours for your information to transfer to Pearson VUE, our testing partner.
- Contact Pearson VUE during the exam scheduling window (see the Schedule Your Exam dates in the table above) to make an appointment for your computer based exam. Exam seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis in more than 400 Pearson VUE test centers around the world.
