CFA Institute membership and societies
Charterholder and regular Membership
When you apply to become a charterholder or regular member of CFA Institute, you also need to apply to a local society. They will review your application, and you can decide whether to join once your application is approved.
Affiliate Membership
You need to be an affiliate member of a local society to become an affiliate member of CFA Institute. Requirements vary by society – find and contact the one nearest you for more details.
Existing CFA Institute members
Regular/charterholder members can add and switch societies without going through the society application process. This can be done during the renewal process from the 'Manage your membership' page.
Global Passport Program
Open up your network wherever you travel. If your CFA Society is a participant, the Global Passport Program lets you attend participating society events at the local member price.
