We are transitioning all CFA Institute Scholarship programs to a new online experience! Starting 15 February 2018, all Awareness (role-based) Scholarship applications will be completed, submitted, reviewed, and awarded online. Paper applications will no longer be available or accepted. This new digital process will launch as follows:
- 1 February 2018 – Window for June 2018 exam Awareness Scholarship paper applications closes (paper/PDFs)
- 15 February 2018 – Window for December 2018 exam Awareness Scholarship application submissions opens (online)
In addition, the Access (needs-based) Scholarship online application has been enhanced to streamline your submission process. The schedule for 2019 Access Scholarship application submissions is as follows:
- 1 March 2018 – Window for 2019 Access Scholarships application submissions opens (online)
- 15 September 2018 – Window for 2019 Access Scholarships applications closes; CFA Institute begins application review (online)
Program scholarships contribute to our mission of promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence. CFA Institute currently offers two types of scholarship opportunities.
Access Scholarships (for CFA Program Only)
The CFA Program Access Scholarship is a needs-based opportunity for those unable to afford the full price of the enrollment and registration fees. The online application is available from 1 March – 15 September, for exams offered the following calendar year.
Awareness scholarships are role-based opportunities that offer a reduced fee for CFA Institute educational programs. There are several categories of Awareness Scholarships:
In support of the CFA Institute Women in Investment Management initiative, we offer scholarships to women around the world.
Eligible applicants: Women who do not qualify for other CFA Institute scholarships, who are interested in earning the CFA charter, and who are eligible to enroll in the CFA Program.
Academic: Faculty/Administrator/Student Scholarships
Eligible faculty/administrator applicants: Full-time college/university professors or administrators/department heads who teach a minimum number of credit hours at qualified institutions.
Eligible student applicants: Full-time undergraduate or full-time or part-time graduate students attending an Affiliated University.
Eligible applicants: Full-time, qualified employees of entities that supervise or regulate the operations, standards of practice or business conduct of the investment management industry and who wish to enroll in the CFA Program or CIPM Program.
