Bjorn Forfang Named Deputy Chief Executive Officer at CFA Institute

Forfang to oversee key strategic functions, industry relationships and global member network of more than 145,000 investment professionals

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the highest standards for ethics, education, and professional excellence, has named Bjorn Forfang its deputy chief executive officer, effective immediately. He was previously managing director of Relationship Management at CFA Institute.

As deputy CEO, Forfang will oversee the organization’s regional capabilities in the Americas; Europe, Middle East & Africa; and Asia Pacific, as well as the Member Value, Advocacy, and Services Delivery functions. Forfang will also continue to lead the organization’s relationships with financial institutions, universities, governments, regulators, CFA societies, and a member network of more than 145,000 members in more than 163 countries and territories worldwide.

Forfang joined CFA Institute in 2016 with more than 20 years of client and relationship management experience, including 14 years as managing director with UBS Investment Bank where he held global relationship management roles, and managed and worked with some of the financial industry’s largest institutional clients. Prior to UBS, he held senior-level roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and Greenwich Associates. Forfang started his financial career in fixed income sales at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc.

Early in his career, he was a senior legal officer with the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo and later relocated to New York as Deputy Trade Commissioner of Norway to the United States and Vice Consul to New York. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a JD from the University of Oslo. Forfang is based in New York.
