Indian Institute of Management Ranchi Joins CFA Institute University Affiliation Program
CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, is pleased to announce that the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi, the ninth IIM established in India, has become a part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program (UAP).
This association is in line with IIM Ranchi's objective of developing skilled managers and leaders, helping students in acquiring the necessary skills to succeed in the investment management industry. With the rising demand for the CFA Program in India, CFA Institute has also increased its footprint in the country by adding test centers in seven new Indian cities, including Ranchi. This will further improve accessibility and convenience for candidates aspiring to pursue the CFA Program. These seven new centers will be in addition to the four test centers added in February 2023, taking the total number of test center cities to 23 across India and more than 400 worldwide.
The University Affiliation Program requires an institute or university to embed at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) into their curriculum. The affiliation provides IIM Ranchi the facility to work with CFA Institute to bring practical knowledge into its classrooms. This will benefit the students as they will gain access to invaluable insights about the investment management industry from global industry practitioners through various sessions and other learning opportunities. In addition, select students can also receive scholarships and fee waivers for the CFA Exam.
“IIM Ranchi is glad to be a part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. This partnership is a major step towards further expanding our diverse and comprehensive learning experience for our MBA students and deepening their financial acumen and skills very early on in their careers. I am confident that a larger number of our students will be excited and will look forward to benefiting from this partnership and the opportunities it brings,” said Prof Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi.
“We are glad to add a prestigious name like IIM Ranchi to our University Affiliation Program and are excited about the prospects of collaborating with them to cultivate a talented pool of young professionals who will drive progress in the growing investment management industry. A CFA Institute affiliated university is a signal to students and potential employers that their curriculum is closely tied to the practice of investment management and is helpful for students also preparing for the CFA Exam,” said Arati Porwal, Country Head, India at CFA Institute. “In addition to this, we are also taking steps towards our commitment to make the CFA Program more accessible to students all over the country through the rapid expansion of our test center network, which now also includes Ranchi.”
As a result of this partnership, IIM Ranchi and CFA Institute will work together to incorporate practical learning experiences into their curriculum. This arrangement will offer students a multitude of educational opportunities and numerous sessions, enabling them to gain valuable insights from industry experts around the globe.
