New Members of Board of Governors at CFA Institute

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, today announces its Board of Governors, effective 1 September 2024, for the new fiscal year at CFA Institute.

Marshall Bailey, CFA, will serve as Chair of the Board of Governors and Heinz Hockmann, PhD, will continue in his role as Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. In addition, the Board of Governors welcomes four new governors, namely: Jennifer Garbowicz, CFA, CIPM; Ravi A. Gautham, CFA; Lindsey Matthews, CFA, CIPM; and Vipin Mayar. Board members were elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting of Members on 31 July.

Incoming Board Chair Marshall Bailey, CFA, has served on the CFA Institute Board of Governors since 2020 and has served as a member of the Risk Committee and the Society Partnership Advisory Council. In addition, Bailey has served as a Board Member for CFA Society United Kingdom. He earned his CFA charter in 1994.

Bailey has had an extensive career across the financial services and banking industries. Of the 35 years in financial services, he has spent more than a decade serving on various boards, providing guidance to leadership teams on organizational strategy and leadership. This includes current positions on the boards of MUFG Securities EMEA plc and MUFG Securities Asia in Hong Kong, and is just finishing as Chair of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), a UK regulatory body.

Bailey holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg, a Master of Arts from the Graduate Institute of International Affairs in Geneva, and a Diploma from the Non-Executive Directors’ Course from FT/Pearson.

The FY2025 CFA Institute Board of Governors comprises a diverse group of 14 members who reside in eight countries, namely: Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Nigeria, United Kingdom, and the United States. CFA Institute membership elects Board officers for a one-year term and Governors for a three-year term. CFA Institute fiscal years run from September 1 to August 31.
