Overview

The distressed asset space in India has seen a remarkable transformation in the past few years. The country’s Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, introduced in 2016, changed what used to be a moribund market lacking in investor interest. Mukesh Agarwal, CFA is DVP – Investments at National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL), a partnership between Indian public and private sector banks to acquire their stressed assets for resolution. Mukesh has overall experience of thirteen years, of which the last eight years have been into distressed asset resolution, special situations and private credit. During this time, he has handled large corporate account resolutions including roads, power, EPC, fertilizer, chemicals, real estate, hospitality, metals and manufacturing. He has invested into operating and stuck road and power projects and successfully exited some investments. Mukesh is a CFA charterholder and holds a Masters in Mathematical Trading and Finance from Cass Business School, London. He is a travel enthusiast and loves to network and make new friends.

Litesh Gada is extremely passionate about equity investments and has almost 15 years of professional experience in private equity, investment management, direct tax (advisory), mergers and acquisitions (tax and regulatory), and corporate finance. He has rich and in-depth knowledge in valuation, investment structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer pricing. Gada has hands-on experience in the entire investment process from deal initiation until disbursement of money to the companies. He has been responsible for monitoring and handholding portfolio companies on a regular basis. Gada’s core expertise is to assist midsize and small companies that have growth potential in raising funds and scaling operations. Gada is a CFA® charterholder, chartered accountant (CA), and company secretary (CS). He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in commerce from Mumbai University.
