Career conversations: Don’t let self-doubt hold you back

I first heard about the CFA® Program during my post-graduation at IIM Indore from my classmates. Initially I thought that this is unattainable because this is too difficult.  

With vision impairment, it might pose additional challenges. Also, I'm anyways interested in the human resources field. Eventually, when I gave a considerable amount of thought to what I want to do in life, and I moved towards finance domain, I realized that maybe it's better suited for me.  

I'm Ajay Minocha and I'm a CFA® Charterholder. I currently work as a senior consultant with a large professional services firm.  

The support from CFA® Institute has been phenomenal. The reasonable accommodation process was very simple and detailed oriented. I got around a hundred percent of extra time, a separate room and the facility of a writer to mark my exam sheets and a reader to read out the questions for me. This helped me immensely to be stress free and deliver the best at the exam.  

The CFA or Chartered Financial Analyst is a gold standard for financial services professionals. ​Through its comprehensive curriculum and structured approach of learning, the CFA® designation has helped me immensely to build understanding and knowledge about finance domain in general, and a wide array of subjects.

Whenever I go for a new assignment, I have a basic knowledge about that task, just because I've read that somewhere in the CFA Institute curriculum. The constant refreshers that the Institute provides, ranging from machine learning for investment management processes to investment in crypto sets, helped me immensely to continue to refresh my knowledge and stay relevant.

Nothing is impossible if you put your heart and mind to it. So making sure that we are consistent with the goal which we want to achieve, we would be able to sooner or later achieve that through our consistency and hard work.
